Celebrations

Shri Nagalinganubhav Goshti

To fulfil the thirst of adhyatma, a program called Shri Nagalinganubav Goshti is being organised on every amavasya. The program will be headed by eminent seers from different parts of Karnataka. Guest from various fields like education, music, social and medical will be invited. Guest speech colours the function. The program will also include music concert where many renowned musicians take part in the concert. Interested devotees will be allowed to do the Bhakti seva in the function, where he/she will donate all the requirements of the functions, and then the person will be facilitated by seers.

Swamji Jayanthi

Every year on the eve of birth day of swamiji, this day will be celebrated as Shri Nagalinga Swami Jayanthi. This festival will be organised on every Noolu Hunnime( Full moon) which comes in Shravana maasa. On this occasion a child statue of swamiji will be worshipped in a pond and it will be taken back to math by procession. Rituals will be performed like naming ceremony of a child in home. Many married women who have not got babies will attend this function. Very astonishingly they will get the babies in future. Bhajans, songs will be organized on this occasion; prasad will be distributed to all devotees.

Aradhana Mahotsav

In the year 1981, Swamiji attained Samadhi. Every year this day is being celebrated as Aradhana Mahotsav. This Utsav will be celebrated for 2 days. On first day, special Rudrabhisheka will be performed for the Samadhi. The main attraction will be MADALI PUJA, a food item called Madali, which is made of atta, jaggery juice is prepared in the form of Shivalinga and Puja is carried out for the same. The same will be distributed to all devotees.

On second day, Swamiji of Shri Math will be given a special bath with coconut oil (Abhyanjana snana). A procession is carried out which includes a pallakki and a mene. In pallakki a statue of Shri Swamiji will be installed, in Mene present seer will sit. The procession will start in the evening of 2nd day and end on next day morning. Overnight lots of folk songs, dance and many other cultural events will be performed, these cultural activites glorifies the procession. Devotees from all parts of Karnataka and Maharashtra will take part in the Utsav and seek the blessing.

Navaratri Utsav

On the eve of the Navaratri, a special puja and Devi Purana will be organised. A statue of Mata Durga will be installed and the same will be worshipped for 9 days. Leelas of Mata Kali from Devi Purana will be told to the devotees. Every day after Purana Swamiji will deliver pravachana. Ayudha Puja, Vijaya Dashami will be celebrated on this occasion.

Moharam Celebration

One of the leelas of the Swamiji, once swamiji took the Panja (Which will be worshiped during moharam) in Annigeri town nearby Navalgund during Moharam celebration. Since then during Moharam these Panjas are worshipped in Shrimath till date. The Punjas will be installed and worshipped as per the Islamic rituals. Muslim community leaders will take part and look after all rituals. This is one of the most peculiar and memorable celebrations in the Math. This kind of event never happen in any Hindu Temple.
